Shree Somnath Jyotirling Temple
Shree Somnath Jyotirlinga, located in Prabhas Patan, Gujarat, is the first and foremost of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Steeped in history and mythology, it is believed to have been originally built by Chandra Dev (the Moon God) in gold and later rebuilt several times due to invasions.
The current temple, standing majestically on the Arabian Sea coast, is an architectural marvel with a Chalukya style design, reflecting eternal strength and devotion. Somnath means “Lord of the Moon,” and it is said that Lord Shiva cured Chandra of a curse here.
A powerful symbol of resilience and faith, the temple draws millions of devotees and tourists who come to seek blessings and witness the divine confluence of history, spirituality, and natural beauty.
